More Clockwork Heart Reviews!

Okay, my hands are shaking a little as I go over the latest reviews. They’re so good my pessimistic nature just knows that I’m due some horrible luck soon to restore the karmic balance….
Reviewer Cheryl Rainfield gave Clockwork Heart 5 of 5 stars on her book blog and teen books sites. Reviews just don’t get any more flattering than this: “Clockwork Heart is the best YA fantasy–the best book–I have read in a long time. Pagliassotti is now one of my new favorite authors, and I’ll look for any other book she comes out with.” Cheryl, I don’t know what to say … thank you! That really made my day.
Drew Bittner, at SFRevu, says “Pagliasotti has brought forth a terrific novel, one that embodies a bold new direction in the fantasy genre. For those who enjoy the work of China Mieville or D.M. Cornish, here is another name to seek out on the bookshelves.” Eeeek! He put my name in the same paragraph as China Mieville’s! One of the authors on my “most respected” list!
Harriet Klausner, at Alternative Worlds, wrote “With a nod to hi tech (punch cards?) science fiction, the heart of CLOCKWORK HEART is a wonderful amateur sleuth fantasy. The story line is fast-paced especially the investigation while the multitude cast makes the caste system seem real. Fully developed are the heroine, two of her Icarus peers, the dour hero, his late brother, and other exalted; the support cast is solid coming from all over the city. However it is Ondirium that stars as the exalted heart of an enjoyable tale of three ‘cities’.” All my roleplaying friends know that I care as much about the cities I create as about my characters, so I’m happy that a reviewer thought I did a good job with Ondinium — I really wanted it to come across clearly.
Thanks, everyone! I’m happy you enjoyed reading Clockwork Heart, and I appreciate your taking the time to tell others about my book!
