Harrow Update
Whew! I’ve finished editing and lining up the January issue and paying all the authors — usually I pay them once the issue is out, but since I’ll be gone for so long, I figured this time I’d pay in advance. …I used to pay authors upon acceptance, but then an author I’d paid turned out to have published his story in another zine first despite our “no reprints” policy. I emailed him about it and he never replied, and he certainly didn’t volunteer to return my money! That annoyed me enough to change my policy on payments.
I’ve also edited and HTMLed all of Feburary’s stories, so that the authors can get the proofing underway before I return.
Kfir and I were going to issue a call for stories for The Harrow’s third anthology in January — The Harrow Press’ second — but we’re both so busy, and I’m going to be gone for so long, that we’ve decided to hold off. We’ll probably put out the announcement in February.
Gosh, I feel like I got a lot accomplished today! If only I were always so efficient.
